Scientific outputs in preparation
Several scientific productions are currently being prepared from the BeHealth project, including journal articles, conference presentations, and software outputs related to the behavioral economics module implemented in the CONSTANCES cohort.
Journal articles
Risk, Time, and Diet Quality: Evidence from a General Population Survey
Antoine Nebout, Noemi Berlin, Emmanuel Kemel and Emmanuel Paroissien.
This article is the first scientific validation paper for the risk and time preference measures developed within BeHealth. It studies the relationship between overall diet quality and individual attitudes toward risk and time. The article is currently under revision at the Journal of Health Economics.
Turning a Blind Eye and Raising a Glass? Information Seeking and Alcohol Consumption in the French Population-Based CONSTANCES Cohort
C. Lemogne, H. Yan, G. Airagnes, V. Lenglin, N. Guinet, S. Palminteri,
M. Zins, S. Kab, M. Galizzi and A. Nebout.
This article analyzes the relationship between information-seeking preferences and alcohol consumption behaviors among 9,223 participants from the CONSTANCES cohort. It uses the Information Seeking Scale to measure both general information-seeking attitudes and health-related information-seeking preferences. The article is expected to be submitted to Addictive Behaviors.
Exploring Behavioral Drivers of Health Decisions: Integrating a Behavioral Economics Module
A. Nebout, H. Yan, V. Lenglin, N. Guinet, M. Cavillon, E. Paroissien,
O. Allais, L. Goldzahl, M. Zins, A. Duclos, C. Delpierre, M. Galizzi,
F. Etilé, and co-authors.
This article presents the BeHealth study design and the integration of a behavioral economics module into the CONSTANCES cohort. It describes the project objectives, the survey architecture, and the behavioral measures collected. It is intended to serve as the reference paper for the project, with a planned submission to the European Journal of Epidemiology.
Structural Preference Measurement under Survey Constraints: Evidence from a Representative Panel
A. Nebout and E. Paroissien.
This article proposes a structural estimation framework for measuring risk and time preferences in representative surveys. It validates the method by documenting expected sociodemographic gradients and associations with real financial behaviors.
Cumulative Health Risks Perceptions and Health Behavior
A. Nebout, M. Sevestre, G. Narayanane, M. Galizzi and H. Yan.
This article studies the role of cumulative health risk perceptions in individual health behaviors. It highlights the importance of perception biases in the adoption of risky or protective behaviors. The article is currently being finalized for submission.
Conference presentation
Structural Preference Measurement under Survey Constraints: Evidence from a Representative Panel
A. Nebout and E. Paroissien.
This work will be presented by Antoine Nebout at the ESA World Meeting in Los Angeles, 14–17 July 2026.
Software and code
A Preferences Elicitation Module for Surveys under oTree
V. Lenglin and A. Nebout.
This software output consists of a reusable package or module designed to deploy a standardized preference elicitation questionnaire under oTree. It covers risk, time, ambiguity and complexity preferences. The software paper is currently being prepared for submission to the Journal of Open Source Software.
